Laser Scanner

A laser sensor for absolute displacement in a few meter and tens of meter is based on the time-of-flight(TOF) method using the principle than the displacement is proportional to the time of the laser beam travelled from the laser source to an object. The laser scanner measures 2D and 3D shapes of the surface of the objects by scanning the laser beam. It gives wide applications of robot navigation, longitudinal distance measurement between cars, height measurement of containers in the loading zone, area measurement in civil and construction, and digital 3D measurement for cultural asset restoration.
